Carnival

This weekend we...

  • Celebrated a little boy's third birthday.
  • Attended the local carnival (it rained, which is traditional).
  • Watched inflatable wrestling, a first for all of us.
  • Made giant tissue paper pompoms inside damp marquees.
  • Jumped on a lot of inflatable things.
  • Bought cakes, fudge and candy floss.
  • Dodged the rain showers.
  • Drank a lot of tea.
  • Got very muddy shoes and regretted my poor choice of footwear.
  • Ate Chinese take away.
  • Watched the Eurovision Song Contest.

So a mixed bag but, considering the weather and that it was just the kids and I, not a bad weekend all things considered. In fact, rather a good one.

  1. Sounds like a pretty perfect weekend to me, even with rain and muddy shoes. And I LOVE a good Chinese takeaway. Have a great week! xo

  2. Yep, looks like typical British weather for a carnival! We watched Eurovision too - not nearly enough weird acts this year though the Greek entry made us laugh, and the Romanian - well, who knew a bloke could sing so high! x

  3. We can't change the weather, but seems like it was a good day had by all. Our weather has been very wet and cold too, but we do need the rain, so I won't complain.

  4. It looks like a lovely day out! I'm starting to think it's better to make the most of whatever weather we have rather than hanging around waiting for a sunny day! You post makes me want to go to our local fair when it comes to town - http://www.carterssteamfair.co.uk/ - we always have a brilliant afternoon! x PS: Hope your shoes have dried out! x

  5. Sounds a busy weekend!
I watched my sons cricket, whilst helping a friend learn to crochet yesterday. GCSE revision supervision this morning and then an afternoon of pottering in the garden, card making and crochet as the boys were out.
A good one for us too.
    Back to reality tomorrow!

  7. I haven't been to a carnival in a long time, I wish I could have been there. It sounds like you made the best of it. I love candy floss (which we would call cotton candy over here); I hope you ate a big portion. :)

  9. Sounds pretty great to me, I missed Eurovision as always, it creeps up on me and then on the night I remember that Frank's not keen, and wish that I'd arranged to watch it with someone who can see the funny side...maybe next year I'll let Max stay up and watch it with me! Well done for doing so much fun stuff, here's hoping for sunshine next weekend...xx

  20. Ooh I haven't had a Chinese for ages. I always thought that it was obligatory to go to the fair in the rain. I missed Eurovision this year, although it's not been the same for me since Terry stopped his commentary.

Hello there! Thank you for leaving a comment. I read them all and I always try to answer questions, although sometimes it takes me a while.
