I am always ridiculously happy when our home is featured in a magazine and I can't imagine ever being blase about such a fun experience. I love our home, of course, but it is very normal; we are not wealthy, we do not have any builders, architects or interior designers in the family (sadly) and so everything we've done we've either done ourselves, or on a tight budget with a lot of hard work and saving up first. I always love it when magazines feature homes that real people can actually afford to live in.
Mollie Makes in June 2018
Our previous home in Leeds was featured in Style At Home in August 2014.
This blog was shortlisted in the Best DIY And Craft Blog category in the Amara Interior Blog Awards in 2014, 2016 and 2017, and has been nominated again this year. In 2013, I was selected as one of the top 50 interior design websites by The Telegraph.
I very occasionally work with brands or companies in the form of sponsored posts. I write them myself and prefer to use my own images as much as possible. I don't accept any pre-written content.
All my sponsored posts are clearly labelled as such so that my readers are fully aware. Please email me at talesfromahappyhouse@yahoo.co.uk if you'd like to discuss a sponsored post. Thank you!
Hi, I really like your spring, summer, autumn and winter embroidery in the circular frame. How can I get the pattern? I would like to make them.
ReplyDeleteHi there, and thank you. I'm afraid there isn't really a pattern as such. Some elements of the embroideries, particularly in the Autumn hoop, were taken from a pattern in an old edition of Mollie Makes (number 22). But the additional details and idea to sew one for each season was mine. I drew the patterns freehand onto the linen with a fading ink pen then stitched over them so it is quite easy to recreate, but if you could get your hands on issue 22 of Mollie Makes that would help you a lot.
