The challenge: find or forage for flowers or plants, either from the garden or elsewhere, and bring them into the home. Well, it was slim pickings in my garden, I'm afraid. The only stems worth picking were forsythia, daffodils, and a yellow and green shrub that I'm afraid I don't know the name of.
But I like a challenge and I love these arrangements. I chose clear glass mason jars as I felt there was as much colour and interest in the mix of stems as in the blooms. And, best of all, we have yellow; bright, sunny, joyful yellow, a colour I adore. Especially right here on the mantle piece against the grey wall.

I adore the colours. Yellow is my favorite. We moved in to a new build house and so have no flowers in the garden yet. But I plan to rectify this.

Roll on summer, I want more flowers in the garden :) Loved the baby blanket from your last post by the way, and I think a larger grey one would look gorgeous :)

ReplyDeleteHere in the soft south (i.e. South Devon) right how in bloom we have: narcissi, the last of the daffs, tulips, wallflower, muscari (grape hyacinths), wallflowers, the lilac is in bud, and the bluebells are beginning to put in an appearance.

They're lovely. Pickings are even slimmer in my garden at the moment. I do have some tulip buds, but that's about all.
