...November, so far you've excelled yourself. I hope the rest of this month is as good as this.
I am in love with the wallpaper by your fire! Super super lovely! Xx
ReplyDeleteI wish that fire was mine, but it belongs to my mother-in-law. The wallpaper is from Homebase.
DeleteThat all looks lovely - some of that red wine is coming my way tonight! X
ReplyDeleteOh good, I am hoping for some more here too. Just as soon as I finish my ginger ale.
DeleteDear Gillian
ReplyDeleteWhat gorgeous photos. Makes you glad to be in England - all the good things about autumn. Is the plant some kind of Viburnum, or is it a 'snowberry' (not sure of the latin name of that)?
Best wishes
Ellie
Thank you Ellie! Do you know, I did wonder if the plant was snow-something, but I'm hopeless with naming flowers.
DeleteI am very good at packing a lot of red wine drinking and sitting around fires into a day. It's a particular skill of mine!
ReplyDeleteWhat can I say. I am lusting after your MIL's wooden stove and we too love Northumberland.
ReplyDeleteThere was I thinking November is a rubbish month and you have shown us all how fabulously evocative and cosy it can be! Fabulous!
ReplyDeleteLooks really idyllic, looks like you had a lovely break. Have a good weekend.
ReplyDeleteIvan
These are the most lovely photos! I feel like I took a mini vacation reading this post! The fireplace photo with the dog is just so inviting and cozy...I love it! And the s'mores and red wine are the icing on the cake! Have a lovely weekend, Gillian!

ReplyDeleteOh how lovely ... I love the wallpaper too ... I actually have a sample of it and some in the red too ... I was contemplating framing it ... glass of red wine by the fire ... bliss ... have a lovely, lovely weekend ... Bee xx
ReplyDeleteOoh, lovely. Looks like a really nice half-term : ) xx
ReplyDeleteI'm super envious of your views, your life seems so serene, I love that... I've never had a kipper in my life... what are they like?
ReplyDeleteIt's not at all serene really! Kippers are smoked herring, really salty and delicious. Traditionally they are eaten for breakfast.
DeleteFantastic photos .... how cosy does your dog look! Hope the rest of the month continues with the promise of the start!
ReplyDeleteHe's called Alfie and he belongs to my in-laws - the kids adore him and entertained themselves all week by playing with him.

ReplyDeleteSomebody's enjoying the heat from that fire. It looks like you've had a wonderful time in Northumberland, I should say you needed the break after the hectic start to your week.
ReplyDeleteCrikey, all that in just two days!! What a lovely collection of photos. We made smores for the first time this year, messy Australian ones!!

Lovely photos. Sounds like a nice outing. Northcumberland coast is beautiful. And what, pray tell, is a "kipper?"
ReplyDeleteA kipper is a smoked herring. Salty and fishy and delicious! We ate ours for breakfast with bread and butter and a cup of tea.
DeleteLooks like you've got into the swing of all things November already. I'm liking the red wine!
ReplyDeleteAnd crunchy leaves are the BEST!

lovely images. despite all the crazy weather November is shaping up nicely.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great start to November you've had! Mine has so far involved moving house and unpacking boxes. Still lots of unpacked boxes that have been shoved in a corner but oh well, we'll get there in the end! x
ReplyDeleteHi Col - lovely to hear from you!! Sounds like you've been very busy. xx
