52 Weeks of Happy...16/52

The happiest people don't have the best of everything, they just make the best of everything.

Joining in with Jen at little birdie, here are a some of the moments which have brought me lots of happiness this week:

1. Blue skies and the smell of washing dried outside in the fresh air.

2. Coffee and a new magazine. More importantly, making the time to sit down and enjoy the coffee and magazine.

3. A bunch of daffodils to brighten up the hall table.

4. A magical walk home after a few hours of very heavy snow last Friday night. I took the above photos on my phone. A group of friends and I went out for a curry and when we couldn't get a taxi home we walked. It wasn't far, just under two miles, and I enjoyed it so much. I was wearing a warm coat and boots, and I had a tummy full of hot food so I was quite snug. (I did fall over once, but this is absolutely because I wasn't wearing my wellies, not because of any number of beers that may have consumed.) The snow had all gone by Monday and now, almost a week later, it feels as though it was never here.

I hope you are all having a good week. x

  4. WOW! look at that snow :) and it's crazy to think that you can get the clothes hung out just a week later... pretty breton stripes too I see ;) Nice to get out with your girls though- I'd say the giggles on the way home were happy for sure! Hazel x

  5. I couldn't believe how quickly the snow thawed considering how much we had. It's lovely to see washing blowing on the line, though if it was hung out today it would probably blow away.

  9. Such a contrast between the first picture and the last! It feels like spring here today, but the wind is picking up again and I'm told there could be more snow next week! All part of life's rich tapestry though - if you'll forgive me the cliché - that's what I love about these 52 Weeks of Happy posts, the reminders of the joy to be found in the everyday :)

  10. The snow was exciting but the sight of green grass and blue skies fill me with more joy. Your curry night sounds like fun xo

  11. Of course those beers had nothing to do with tipping over! I mean, that snow looks really slippery! ;)
I love the dancing shirt on your clothesline. I never think to line dry clothes in the winter.

    Happy Thursday!

  13. Love that photo of that one daffodil almost fully in bloom.
Not seen that mag but then, I've not been in a newsagent's shop for a while, I subscribe to all 'my' mags, so must have a look-see for this one.

  14. Wow the snow pics are great. So different to what we are experiencing! Our family and friends in the UK keep us upto date with snow pics which we love. And the simpleness of a great coffee and good read is one of my favourite things too.

  18. I would say that spring is in the air, but February has just that habit of lulling you into a false sense of security and then hitting you with icy blasts! The walk home from your dinner looks like great fun. Hope there were plenty of snowballs thrown! ;0) x

I love the snowy pictures. And how lovely to go out with friends mid week!!

Thank you for nominating me. I was very touched, and would like to be involved if only to nominate other blogs that I have found and loved. I so love being a small part of this community. It has given me a voice and ignited a love of photography that I hope to pursue more seriously.

That's some amount of snow you've had there - I'm jealous as we haven't had any. Maybe it's our turn this month.

  36. Why does it seem surprising (in a positive way) when someone openly states that they're happy? Your blog is so refreshing and inspiring. Hope you're having a fun, warm weekend. Here in the States, it's Ground Hog Day! -- Jan
