One Green Apple

Hello lovelies. Amidst the painting, dust sheets and general chaos surrounding us in the house at the moment there is a great deal of pleasure to be had in showing you a finished project. In about a week or so order (ha!) will reign again, but until the meantime, let's look at something pretty!

I made this bag about a month ago and completely forgot to show you. It was part of a birthday present for this lovely lady and I had to wait until her birthday had passed before I could post it.

It's a simple gusseted pre-made cotton shopping bag with long handles. I like to buy things like this ready made. I get to do the fun bit, choosing fabrics and hand sewing, and someone else has done the boring stuff like sew on the handles and make sure they are the same length. I appliqued on an apple using some green Liberty fabric - this one, which I like very much and use often - and felt. The apple design is from Chloe Owen's All Sewn Up, a fabulous book full of many happy and inspiring patterns and ideas. It took a couple of hours to make from start to finish. I do like a quick turn around in a craft project.

So, there you are, one green apple, sewn onto a bag.
