Weekend Business

This weekend there has been some...

sewing...
playing inside...
playing outside*...
reading**...
smelling...
making...
rough and tumbling...
washing...
and some snacking...

Did you have a good weekend? What did you get up to? We were at home a lot as John was working, but we kept busy. The sun has gone and the grey skies and cool temperatures are back. Oh well, it was nice while it lasted. Wishing you all a lovely week. Thank you for the comments, they make my day, and hello new followers! x

* I promised I'd show your the inside of the playhouse, which houses all our outdoor toys. Note the smashed window, the mould and the tacky plastic toys.

** Is anyone else reading this?? Gosh, it's certainly an interesting read. A book group choice you understand, otherwise I wouldn't be reading it...

  3. It was my daughter's birthday yesterday so we had a weekend of celebrations. It looks like you had lots of fun, so nice to be able to get outside in some sunshine for a change. I haven't read Fifty Shades of Grey but I've heard some interesting comments about it.

    1. Happy Birthday to your daughter, hope she had a nice day. A months ago I'd never heard of that book but now it seems like everyone I know is reading it - even my mother in law!!

  4. We had a great weekend, with the sun. I can not bring myself to read 50 shades. I would rather have sex than read about it and finding the time to do wither with the boys is hard at the moment!

    1. Oh Jen that comment made me laugh out loud! You are right - there is little time for either activity with small kids, especially when all you want to do in bed is sleep.

    2. Yes, we have learnt that at our house too... To make up for it we have instigated sneaky kisses...quick pashes like its a secret we are trying to keep quiet.. Quite fun and makes up a little for sleeplessness taking over our bedroom fun.

We ate dinner in the garden yesterday, it was sunny and warm - and today it is pouring. We had a much needed lazy weekend at home with lots of lego and creative play. Happy Monday! xx

    1. The apple on the sewing is from the fabulous Chloe Owens book - will show you when it's finished. Dinner in the garden - how utterly lovely. We've not eaten in the garden since May :-(

    1. Hi Em, nice to meet you! I did so much washing over the weekend - sunny, windy weather = empty the washing basket. Tragic but true.

  10. Looks like a lovely weekend. Yum to the Tunnock's Teacakes and your sewing project looks interesting. I've got to be honest, I'm fed up hearing about this Fifty Shades of Grey - I'll be giving it a miss, I think. I'm sure it is 'interesting' though :)

    1. It is really badly written and unintentionally hilarious. Obviously I will have to finish it though... Since I started reading it I am seeing it everywhere - even by the supermarket checkouts!

  13. As you know I was getting a puppy! It looks as if you had some sunshine! Is the bracelet from Molly Makes? Haven't read the book - but funnily enough a colleague told me about it today - she got it on Kindle so no one knew what she was reading!! Might not be a read for those of us who currently have single status! Love the sewing and the lovely window box. Enjoy the week. Mags xx

    1. Yes, it's from Mollie Makes, it inspired me to make some friendship bracelets like the ones from my childhood. I hope the puppy is settling in. I've heard that lots of people are reading that book on their kindles so no-one knows what they are reading!

    1. We have good taste in mugs! But perhaps not in books. Although, despite claiming that it is terribly badly written, I can't put it down and will definitely be finishing it.

    1. It certainly seems to divide people! It was my book group's choice - that's my defence and I'm sticking to it. Can't remember who suggested it now - hope it wasn't me! x

  16. Such a lovely weekend! I like the look of your sewing (and snacks)! My mum-in-law was telling me what an Awful Book that is :-) We have book club tonight and I know it's one of the new books. (Our book club is more like a travelling library than discussion group.) x

    1. A travelling library sounds like fun! Our book club is just an excuse to meet up and drink a lot of wine. That's probably why it's been going for as long as it has! x

  19. All of your photos are lovely. Your sewing project looks adorable. You'll have to give us the book review at the end. Your comments about it being poorly written are true to what I've heard so far although I have one friend who read all three in the series in just days! as many
