This weekend there has been some...
sewing...
playing inside...
playing outside*...
reading**...
smelling...
making...
rough and tumbling...
and some snacking...
Did you have a good weekend? What did you get up to? We were at home a lot as John was working, but we kept busy. The sun has gone and the grey skies and cool temperatures are back. Oh well, it was nice while it lasted. Wishing you all a lovely week. Thank you for the comments, they make my day, and hello new followers! x
* I promised I'd show your the inside of the playhouse, which houses all our outdoor toys. Note the smashed window, the mould and the tacky plastic toys.

** Is anyone else reading this?? Gosh, it's certainly an interesting read. A book group choice you understand, otherwise I wouldn't be reading it...
Looks like a perfect sort of weekend, mine was pretty frantic - but glad of the sun, we went OUTSIDE yesterday! WooHoo! x
ReplyDeleteSuch a little sun makes all the difference. Rain today though... x
DeleteLooks like a fun weekend with lots of fun activities! And the playhouse window box is looking very lovely! Bella's hair is so cute by the way!
ReplyDeleteI love it when she lets me put her hair in bunches - it always looks so cute!
DeleteIt was my daughter's birthday yesterday so we had a weekend of celebrations. It looks like you had lots of fun, so nice to be able to get outside in some sunshine for a change. I haven't read Fifty Shades of Grey but I've heard some interesting comments about it.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to your daughter, hope she had a nice day. A months ago I'd never heard of that book but now it seems like everyone I know is reading it - even my mother in law!!
DeleteWe had a great weekend, with the sun. I can not bring myself to read 50 shades. I would rather have sex than read about it and finding the time to do wither with the boys is hard at the moment!
ReplyDeleteOh Jen that comment made me laugh out loud! You are right - there is little time for either activity with small kids, especially when all you want to do in bed is sleep.
DeleteYes, we have learnt that at our house too... To make up for it we have instigated sneaky kisses...quick pashes like its a secret we are trying to keep quiet.. Quite fun and makes up a little for sleeplessness taking over our bedroom fun.
Deletethat sewing looks pretty epic! lovely sunny photos too x
ReplyDeleteNearly finished - presents for Bella's teacher. Got to get them done by Friday... x
Deleteinterested to hear about the horse and the hare...
ReplyDeletemy girl would so love that playhouse.
That is the book I will read when I've finished 50 shades, to cleanse me!
DeleteLoving the look of your sewing. Some completed shots please...I love applique but haven't done any for ages, your project looks inspiring! We ate dinner in the garden yesterday, it was sunny and warm - and today it is pouring. We had a much needed lazy weekend at home with lots of lego and creative play. Happy Monday! xx
ReplyDeleteThe apple on the sewing is from the fabulous Chloe Owens book - will show you when it's finished. Dinner in the garden - how utterly lovely. We've not eaten in the garden since May :-(
DeleteHopped over here from another blog! Love all the photos...especially the clothes on the line! Not enough people utilize the sun! ;)
ReplyDeleteHi Em, nice to meet you! I did so much washing over the weekend - sunny, windy weather = empty the washing basket. Tragic but true.
DeleteNo, I'm reading The Tortoise and The Hare! Without chocolate teacakes!
ReplyDeleteIs it good? I am looking forward to reading it. Although it will be a complete change to my current reading material!
DeleteLooks like a lovely weekend. Yum to the Tunnock's Teacakes and your sewing project looks interesting. I've got to be honest, I'm fed up hearing about this Fifty Shades of Grey - I'll be giving it a miss, I think. I'm sure it is 'interesting' though :)
ReplyDeleteIt is really badly written and unintentionally hilarious. Obviously I will have to finish it though... Since I started reading it I am seeing it everywhere - even by the supermarket checkouts!
DeleteLooks lovely and the sun shone! More of the sewing please...
ReplyDeleteGifts for Bella's teacher and teaching assistant. They are wonderful and we will miss them next year.
Deleteperfect weekend!
ReplyDeleteI am not reading it but it seems most of the country is!
xxx
Yes, including my mother in law! Hmm, awkward.
DeleteAs you know I was getting a puppy! It looks as if you had some sunshine! Is the bracelet from Molly Makes? Haven't read the book - but funnily enough a colleague told me about it today - she got it on Kindle so no one knew what she was reading!! Might not be a read for those of us who currently have single status! Love the sewing and the lovely window box. Enjoy the week. Mags xx
ReplyDeleteYes, it's from Mollie Makes, it inspired me to make some friendship bracelets like the ones from my childhood. I hope the puppy is settling in. I've heard that lots of people are reading that book on their kindles so no-one knows what they are reading!
Deletei am reading this book and finding it hard to put down. i had to smile because while flicking through the chapters over the weekend i sipped my coffee from the same cup as yours! love those penguin classics. xo
ReplyDeleteWe have good taste in mugs! But perhaps not in books. Although, despite claiming that it is terribly badly written, I can't put it down and will definitely be finishing it.
Deletethere is a buzz around our little town about shades of grey and i'm . . . curious!
ReplyDeleterachel xo
It certainly seems to divide people! It was my book group's choice - that's my defence and I'm sticking to it. Can't remember who suggested it now - hope it wasn't me! x
DeleteSuch a lovely weekend! I like the look of your sewing (and snacks)! My mum-in-law was telling me what an Awful Book that is :-) We have book club tonight and I know it's one of the new books. (Our book club is more like a travelling library than discussion group.) x
ReplyDeleteA travelling library sounds like fun! Our book club is just an excuse to meet up and drink a lot of wine. That's probably why it's been going for as long as it has! x
DeleteHi, looks like you are having a fab time! My daughters used to have a playhouse, not sure who liked it more, them or me! Ada:)
ReplyDeleteHi Ada, thanks for stopping by. The playhouse is one of the best things we bought for the kids, they have had so much pleasure from it.
Deleteit all looks wonderful, but i'd most like to join you for tea and a treat in that last photo. yum! and such a cute tray and mug!
ReplyDeleteThe tray is from IKEA - I love it, it's so cheerful!
DeleteAll of your photos are lovely. Your sewing project looks adorable. You'll have to give us the book review at the end. Your comments about it being poorly written are true to what I've heard so far although I have one friend who read all three in the series in just days! as many
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure it deserves a book review! I'll be interested to see what my book club make of it...
DeleteAmazing what a bit of sunshine can do!
