Sunshine!!!
I am so sun starved that I have resorted to taking photographs of the sun's rays, wherever they may fall, inside or outside.
It's not hot. Not bikini weather (ha ha, those days are long gone...thanks to two huge babies). It's 14 degrees C (or 57 degrees F in old money) so Spring weather not Summer weather. But boy is it nice to wake up to sunshine! Do you have sun today where you are? What are you doing? Put on a jumper and pack a picnic, go for a walk, fire up the barbecue or just sit in the garden with a coffee like I am this morning. Quick, before the rain comes back!

I'm off strawberry picking - the jam making might have to wait though as I want to squeeze every moment out of the blue skies and not be wrestling hot pans and jars

DeleteI do, I do, I see it!! What pretty pictures capturing our sun. We've had sunny weather for days & days, here on the East Coast , US. So sunny, my grass crackles under my feet.... we could use a grey rainy day here realllllly soon [& how I rarely say that!].

Crackling grass! Our is so waterlogged it squelches when you walk on it. Enjoy your Sunday too.
DeleteGorgeous photos of blue sky and sun's rays! Enjoy this beautiful sunny day! You deserve it! It's partly sunny where I live, but really too hot (96 degrees) and humid to be out.
ReplyDeleteOk, 96 degrees is much too hot! Especially when it's humid. Stay inside in the cool, especially with a toddler!
DeleteSunshine, hooray! We managed to escape the constant rain in Cape Town for some sunnier weather in the countryside. It was great but back home now for more endless rain. x

ReplyDeletewe decided to use the good weather to go the garden....or at least make a start on it, so nice to have to go indoors for a cold drink because it is 'too hot'

DeleteI see it. Can't quite believe my eyes though!! I shall have to bask in a bit of your sun ... grey skies here. But the whippets have had a quick whizz round the fields in between showers.
ReplyDeleteIt's slightly ridiculous, I know, to be so sun obsessed. This is what months of rain do to me! John is threatening to "book somewhere hot" for our holiday next year, and he never says that, he hates lying in the sun.
DeleteIt's been a cracker of a day down here in the sunny south, South Devon to be precise. But I've spent much of it in the kitchen, baking. When I feel a baking mood coming on, nothing, not even the sunshine will stope me ... cheese scones, coffee & walnut cake, lemon drizzle cake, broccolli & blue cheese soup, macaroni & leek cheese (4 individual portions, two for lunch today, two for another time), roasted gammon, baked potatoes, pear and lime jelly, creme caramel ... some of it for today, some of it for tomorrow, some of it now in the freezer ... but Himself has been out and cut the grass, so that's tidy again. And the sun still shines at 7 pm!

Margaret, that all sounds completely delicious! I normally get the baking bug when its cold and wet outside. Macaroni and leek cheese sounds good, i will try that. We sometimes put bacon or pancetta in ours, it works really well.
DeleteYes, indeed it has been sunny here all day (with the odd grey cloud which came over but then thankfully went again). I have been in the garden since 2.00pm, cutting back, potting on, removing past-their-best things and have just finished (18.40), aching but happy. I did keep stopping for cups of tea and biscuits, of course. It is so lovely to actually get out there!

I love a good gardening session, coming in weary and achy with dirt under your fingernails but feeling really satisfied with what you've achieved. Tea and biscuits obligatory here too!
DeleteAh, c'mon, that's just rubbing it in Gillian! I got a bit carried away when I realised that it 'almost hadn't rained for two whole days' today - but it still wasn't exactly balmy. I'm considering emigrating...

If it makes you feel any better the photos didn't show the freezing wind. And I spent the evening wrapped in a blanket because it just feels morally wrong to switch the heating on in July!
DeleteYay for sunshine, it's so nice to see it! We went into Kent today and wandered around Knole park, though it was a little cloudy there! There was sunshine in London this morning though :-) x

DeleteWe had such a fab weekend in the sun. We were tourists in our own backyard and had a fab time in our little seaside town doing all things touristy. Just a perfect weekend that I didn't want to end

DeleteAfter a week of warmth and sun near Portland, Oregon, it was cool and rainy Sunday. What? I was horrified! But the sun did shine today a bit, and I hope will be shining more on you, too :)
ReplyDeleteNo sun yet...but there are rumours that next week will be warm and dry, which is wonderful as we are going on our holiday next week. Here's hoping!
