Hello! I am rather excited right now because I have some very lovely and gorgeous treats for you in a giveaway today. I don't say this enough: readers, I thank each and every one of you who visits my little corner of the internet for your support and your friendship. Your comments bring me much happiness, and the connections I've built with other bloggers around the world have been nothing but joyful and rewarding. Those who pop in but don't comment - I love that you do that too and I thank you for it.
So. We have Giveaway A which includes a beautiful Emily Peacock "Kiss" tapestry kit, a rather gorgeous Greengate tea towel and a little cashmerino crochet garland made by my own fair hands. I thought the colours went quite nicely together.
And in Giveaway B we have an Emily Peacock "Hug" tapestry kit, a delicious Gillian Kyle tea towel made from the nicest, softest-feeling unbleached, organic cotton, and a print with a pretty great quote by Nikki McWilliams. I agree with the sentiment and feel that, while a cup of tea and a Tunnock's Tea Cake might not solve everything, they may make it all easier to bear.
I am happy to be able to offer you these things; they are products which are very definitely "me" and things which I would gladly buy or make and want in my own home. My first ever blog post was about my own "Kiss" tapestry kit which I started when I was pregnant with Angus and, to my shame, never completed. My mum took it off my hands last year, finished it, framed it and it now looks very nice in her living room. And that is why I offer these kits these to you - I would never finish them!
Please note that the kits are exactly that - kits - and include canvas, wool thread and a colour chart. You can then make it up into a cushion or frame it when you've completed it. These kits are the smaller of the two sizes and would usually cost £54.99. Thank you Emily Peacock!
The tea towels are from the pretty marvelous online shop All Tea Towels. I have a bit of a thing about tea towels - I really love them, probably more than is normal. We have everyday ones, old ones for drying up things like the roasting tins, nice ones and then Tea Towels Which Must Never Be Used, like that really expensive one I bought in Anthropologie a few years ago, my treasured Emma Bridgewater limited edition Coronation tea towel and now this one. It's ok, John is fully trained on which tea towels are actually for use and which ones must simply hang over the oven door handle looking pretty. Whether you actually use these tea towels or just admire them is up to you of course. If you share my tea towel love then do visit All Tea Towels and have a browse.
The Nikki McWilliams print is from Chirpy, an independent lifestyle and interiors shop here in Leeds. I sort-of know Harriet, who runs it - we met about a year ago through a mutual friend and she was in the process of setting up Chirpy then. It's been open for nearly a year now and it's a triumph, a treasure trove of beautifully selected and displayed products by independent local and UK designers and craftspeople...if you are at all near Leeds, do pop in. Thank you Harriet!

ReplyDeletewhat a lovely idea for a give away :)
ReplyDeleteWith the difficulties of full time teaching alongside full time PGCE this year, I really relate to the cup of tea and tunnocks tea cake thing! I wish they really could solve everything, but tea does certainly keep my brain going just that little bit longer! Tea fuelled me through my degree a good few years ago and I think it'll help me through this too, if I don't drown in paperwork first!
I just joined up by email. I would like giveaway B, if I have a choice and win. Thanks for including international entries.
ReplyDeleteMyra, from Canada, where autumn has arrived.

As I am blogless at the moment, although thinking about setting one up, I have signed up for your e-mail alert as I enjoy reading your blog. It is not just me then that loves tea-towels - I have a Greengate one that I am going to frame for my kitchen wall. If you could put my name in the draw for the Tunnock's Teacake Teatowel she said alliteratively, I would be ever so grateful. Thank you. Lucy x PS I may be the last person in Britain without a dishwasher, so I need a teatowel (although it would not get used for drying dishes really).
ReplyDeleteI'm already a follower and would be thrilled to win either set of prizes, they're all so lovely. I shall make a note of Chirpy and pop in the next time I'm in Leeds.

ReplyDeleteGood grief, but that's a lot of people entering your giveaway! Can I too please? ReplyDeleteIt's lovely of you to have a giveaway, but please don't enter me in it as being in Oz, it's way to expensive in postage, but thanks for the comments on my last post. Take care Susan.
ReplyDeleteI have popped onto your blog every so often for a while now as I love reading your posts & seeing your lovely photos. Your very generous giveaway has spurred me on to 'officially' follow you - my first one ever!
ReplyDeleteIf I should be lucky enough to win, please could I have Giveaway A - I am 3/4 way through my own Hug cushion (only taken about 10 months so far!) and would love to have the pair (eventually!). ReplyDeleteL ovely giveaways - both of them, and I would love to win either - your choice! I am a follower .I haven't done any tapestry for quite a while but these are so tempting.
I have been a follower for a while now, I would love to win kit A. I have to say though, having 2 boys if I actually made a cushion that said kiss they would probably hit one another with it and then say "I was just giving you a kiss!"
ReplyDeleteI have been reading your blog for a long time and have just signed up to be an official follower, which is a first for me! I would love to enter your fab give away and would love set A if I were lucky enough to win as my daughter has been longing for one of these cushion sets for ages. DeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteI recently discovered the wonderful world of blogs a couple of months ago and was lead to yours and have been a secret follower ever since! I have about 10 crafty blogs that I check daily in anticipation of a new 'fix' of a post. This lovely giveaway has given me the impetus to sign up to bloglovin which will change my blog habits for sure! This is also my first comment! I have been umming and aaaahing about creating my own blog, and if I won here, this could be the start of a blog for me! Both of the tapestries are stunning but I would have to go for 'hug' with the Tunnock's tea cake tea-towel. My Scottish husband introduced me to them and they are enormously popular in our house. Whilst I am here I want to thank you for your brill coverage of Yarndale, you really captured the essence of it and I loved the post 'a dry spell'- it was just how we felt after our holiday and it made me chuckle that we weren't the only ones! Thanks for your blog-I really look forward to your new posts! (sorry for the essay!) All the best, Michelle M
I just discovered your blog, and it's beautiful! will be back here many times!
